PastShadows200x300

I blogged only yesterday about the release of one of my novels in print and then in today’s post I received my print copy of another of my works.

The historical ghost anthology, PAST SHADOWS, was released last month by MLR Press. My story, DEATH’S DESIRE, is amongst it pages, along with excellent stories by Charlie Cochrane and Jardonn Smith.  I knew, of course, that the book was on the way, but to actually handle it, and then put it on my shelf alongside my copy of BEYOND THE VEIL – well I can’t really explain what that felt like. I guess if you are an author you will know what it feels like, if you’re not perhaps you wouldn’t quite understand.

After all, it’s just words on paper, isn’t it? Well, no, not really. It’s hours, weeks, months of sweating out every word, making sure it said exactly what you wanted. Reading it, re-reading it and having the courage to send it off and let someone else (often more than one someone else) judge it and decide if your words are worthy of being put onto that piece of pristine white paper.

I think I should stop now before I embarrass myself <g> Suffice to say, I’m excited!

PastShadows200x300

It was a total surprise when I was informed last night by MLR Press that the Anthology, Past Shadows, had been released.  I had not expected this book to be out until next month.  A surprise it might have been but it was also very exciting.

Past Shadows is my first release with MLR Press and it contains my gay historical ghost story, Death’s Desire, amongst its pages. I am in excellent company with Charlie Cochrane and Jardonn Smith in this anthology.

And what about that lovely cover? I think it fits perfectly with the theme of the book – gay historical ghost stories. Kudos to Deana at MLR!

mlrmanloveimageI was very pleased when ManLoveRomance Press recently offered me a contract for my submission to their m/m Anthology, AMONG THE LIVING, be published later in the year.  I don’t have a precise release date yet, I’ll post more about that when I know details.

As soon as I heard about this anthology of m/m ghost stories I had a plot bunny yapping at my heels and I found myself very eager to be included.

My contribution, DEATH’S DESIRE, is an historical tale set partly late in the 18th century and partly early in the 17th century and I really enjoyed letting my imagination have free rein.

Torquere  Heard today my submission for an anthology has been accepted! Excellent news. This was my first submission for an anthology so I’m really chuffed. I can’t believe how wonderful these past few weeks have been.

The piece is an historical one about the Musketeers of the French King (not *the* Musketeers, my story is set about 30 years later than Dumas’ story) and the anthology is about Men in Uniform, any uniform, any period – should be a lot of fun. Due in September.
