I’ve been trying for a while to think of something I could do on a regular basis that would be informative and entertaining for readers of my writing – regular and prospective – and at last I’ve come up with what I hope is a good idea:)
Twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, I’m going to post an excerpt from one of my stories, but it won’t be one that’s been posted before because these excerpts will always come from the 25% point in the book. To clarify, I’ll find the point a quarter of the way into my story and that will be the commencement of the excerpt to be posted. I have novels, novellas and short stories published and the length of the excerpt will vary depending on the type of book but it will always commence at 25% into the book.
The first of these excerpts will be posted tomorrow, Sunday 9th September, and I’ve chosen to begin with Smoke Screen, which was the first story I ever had published. It wasn’t the first book for which I gained a contract but this one came out first and I still have a soft spot for it.
